Relation to prayer and reading the word: Nehemiah 1:4-5; Daniel 9:3; Luke 2:37
Corporate Fasting: Nehemiah 9:1-3; Erza 8:21-23; Jonah 3:5-10.
JANUARY 2ND - JANUARY 8TH
Fast preparation:
Be sure to discuss your fasting with your doctor. Remember when it gets challenging pray as often as you can throughout the day for God to sustain you. Find time from daily distractions so you do not lose your focus. Stay hydrated!!!
Choose the one that God is leading you toward.
Fruits, Vegetable and Nuts
No sugar, starch, dairy, meat including seafood during the fast. Consider the Daniel Fast.
Eliminate Sweets
Eliminate all sugary items such as candy, desserts, and sugary beverages. See tips to stop eating alot of sugar. READ MORE
No Social Media
Social media can be a major distraction when you are trying to hear from God. Decide to stop scrolling for the duration of the fast.
Liquids
Liquids only: 6am-6pm or 7am-7pm
Consider making healthy smoothies.

Eliminate Fried Foods
Eliminate fried foods. The American Heart Health Association has a guide to "eating smart".
No Secular TV or Music
Limit what you listen to and watch during the fast. Consider the watching inspirational movies. See Suggestions
